The Role
Are you a dynamic, results-driven individual with a flair for outreach and relationship-building? We are looking for a VP of Partnerships whose primary focus will be to identify and engage potential clients, setting the stage for successful sales of our innovative SaaS product in the education and media sectors.
Responsibilities
- Loves to network, identify, and engage with potential clients, building relationships that lead to sales opportunities.
- Enthusiastic in conducting cold outreach emails and phone calls, on a daily and consistent basis for a minimum of 2 hours per day from Monday to Friday (total = 10+ hours per week)
- Loves to work autonomously once tasks are clearly defined, and takes pride in being responsible and timely for their assigned tasks.
- Loves to work in a startup environment (built by an experienced team) with a shared goal of overall growth within the team and as a company.
- Skilled at strategy and can communicate honestly with the team regarding what is lacking and what steps can be taken to improve further.
- Someone who likes to take on multiple “hats” or roles on an as needed basis.
- Loves to review existing work, and trade ideas back and forth with your manager and team.
- Someone who likes to use Slack for communication, and has no problem with time-tracking software for invoicing purposes.
- Loves to initiate conversations, pique interest, and persuasively present the potential of a product or service to potential clients/customers
- Loves to utilize market research to identify key players for maximum outreach efforts
- Loves to collaborate and strategize with sales and marketing teams to develop outreach strategies and create a pipeline of potential clients.
- Someone who diligently follows up on leads, nurturing relationships that convert potential clients into successful sales.
- Someone who loves to use up-to-date marketing tools and techniques innovatively, always seeking to optimize engagement and effectiveness in reaching out to and connecting with potential clients.
- Loves to analyze client feedback and industry trends, using insights to refine outreach tactics and improve client acquisition strategies.
- Enthusiastic in staying informed about competitors and the overall market landscape, and then using this knowledge to strategically position our product.
- Someone who excels in research and is able to implement a range of unique outreach strategies for both B2B and B2C clients
- Someone who is willing to research and present appropriately in-person and/or online presentations, workshops, and seminars to prospective clients, staff, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree preferred. A degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Computer Science or a related field is highly desirable.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in outreach, business development, or sales roles, preferably in technology, education, or media sectors.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are essential. Ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
- Ability to develop and implement effective outreach strategies. Proven track record of identifying and converting new sales opportunities into lasting partnerships.
- Possesses a uniquely creative mindset, capable of devising innovative strategies and thinking outside the conventional boundaries of marketing.
- Data analysis experience is a plus. Ability to analyze market trends, customer data, and competitor strategies to inform business decisions.
- Highly independent with a proactive approach to work.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment where roles and responsibilities continue to evolve and the need to wear multiple hats may arise
- Experience in managing long-term projects, and skilled in managing client relationships.
- Capable of building strong effective partnerships across various sectors, including governmental and educational institutions.
